Activity

1. Write the verse on a chalk/wipe board and read it as a group once.

2. Explain the following:

Our big idea today is "God means what he says." He always tells the truth, he always says what he means, and he always keeps his promises. This verse tells us exactly that: "He will keep his promise for all time to come."

As we learn this verse, we're going to pretend we're like Zechariah, reacting in fear when the angel appear. But unlike Zechariah, we're going to be so scared we faint with fear and fall to the ground. Lucky for us, though, we have these pillows/mattress here to keep us from getting hurt as we fall.

3. Each time you read through the verse as a group, do the following: select a volunteer to come up front and stand in front of the pillows/mattress. Have him/her pick a word of the verse to erase from the board. Read through the verse as a group, instructing your volunteer to faint with fear when the group says the word he/she just erased from the board.

Continue this process until all the words of the verse have been erased.
