-long stick

Activity

1. Read through the verse as a group once.

2. Explain the following:

Our big idea today is "God is holy: perfect and special." This verse tells us that we need to try our best to be holy like God is holy.

One way we saw God was holy, perfect and special, in our story was the Ark of the Covenant. It was so special that the Israelites weren't even supposed to touch it. Instead, they carried it with long wooden poles.

While we learn our verse, we'll play a game with a long, wooden pole and we'll do our best not to touch it. We're going to play Limbo!

3. Each time you read through the verse as a group, do the following: erase one word of the verse from the board. Select two children to hold each end of the long stick. Select another child to try to "limbo" under the stick without touching the stick or the ground. Repeat until all the words of the verse have been erased, having the children hold the stick lower each time.
