Exodus 15:22-17:7

Big Idea

God takes care of us.

 

Verse

Philippians 4:19 - “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Materials

-a small bowl of popcorn for each child

Setup

1. Write the verse on a chalk/wipe board.

Activity

1. Read through the verse as a group once.

2. Explain the following:

    Our big idea today is "God takes care of us." This verse tells us that same thing: God will take care of the things we really need.

    In our story today, one of the needs God took care of was the Israelites' need for food. So, while we learn our verse, we'll eat some popcorn, which kind of looks like the manna that God sent for his people.

3. Each time you read through the verse as a group, do the following: erase one word of the verse from the board. Eat one piece of popcorn when you come to the word you just erased. Repeat until all the words of the verse have been erased.
