THE
BAHAMAS TREASURE HUNT

January 1- June 30, 2008

Those winter blues getting’ you down? Tired of chipping that icicle off your nose? Ready to break away?

How about a few days exploring the islands of the Caribbean. Fly your favorite plane down to the Caribbean or pick up anywhere along the way. Here’s a flight plan you can fly “round robin” or make the GVA FBO at Freeport your home base and go day tripping from there. The FP takes you from Greenbrier Valley Airport (KLWB) down to Ft Lauderdale. The short hop over to Bimini is just the start of your Bahamas fly-away. There are plenty of interesting smaller strips along the way to explore that can accommodate most of your single engine favorites.

To enhance your experience, take a look at the freeware scenery at FreeFlow. Their FreeFlow Florida and FreeFlow Bahamas add-on scenery takes over where FS9 leaves off. Dan and I have installed the scenery and found it to be easy to install and frame rate friendly and will be happy to try and provide any assistance you might need. Check out the FreeFlow web site at:  http://www.fs-freeflow.com/index.php (you may need to copy and paste the link).

To install the GVA FBO at Freeport (MYGF) go to the GVA Hangar page and scroll down to “Caribbean Hang Out” for instructions.

The treasure is in the eye of the aviator.
