Valor Park Booth Information: 

 

It is the Artists’ responsibility to provide their own tents and wire walls or other hanging materials.  The tents MUST be secured and have flaps for protection from weather elements AND for security purposes.  Tents may NOT be staked- must be secured by water barrels or concrete blocks.

 

Artists are responsible for securing their own tents nightly and reopening their tents at the beginning of the next day.  Tents MUST be open for business at the start of the festival each day.  Artists are also responsible for their own load in and load out. 

 

Market Common/Global Awareness Project will provide security to patrol the festival area during off festival hours.  Please note that Market Common/GAP is NOT responsible for any theft or damage to tents, artwork or any materials. 

 

Tables and tents are available to rent for an additional fee.  Please contact Jessica at 467-9238 for more information.  Tables and tents must be rented by the first of each month before the art walk.

Summer Art Walks at The Market Common 

The conditions are a part of the contract between the Event Coordinator/GAP and the Artist. 
 

      I. Terms and Conditions

The Event Coordinator reserves the right to assign and/or reassign any exhibit location without notice, regardless of the space assigned on this agreement.  The Event Coordinator will make every attempt to bring in a buying crowd.  The Event Coordinator and/or Global Awareness Project does not make any guarantee as to the number of visitors who will attend the show nor the sales that the exhibitor will make.  The Artist agrees to hold harmless the Event Coordinator, GAP and their volunteers and employees, against any and all claims of any person, arising from low visitor turnout and/or lack of Exhibitor sales.  
 
II. Eligible Exhibits

Artist agrees to only display and sell merchandise consistent with the theme of the show as defined as follows: Acrylics, Watercolors, Oils, Mixed Media, Jewelry, Sculpture, Folk Art, Recycled Art, Self Taught Art, handmade clothing, handbags and/or any other medium consistant with the theme of the show. 

The Event Coordinator reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any company or product to exhibit at the show. 
 
III. Insurance

Artists who would like insurance for this event must purchase this insurance at their own expense.  The Artist agrees to make no claims for any reason whatsoever against the Event Coordinator/GAP/The Market Common for loss, theft, damage or destruction of goods, not for any injury to himself or employees while the show is in progress, during set up or break down.  Artist agrees to hold harmless the Event Coordinator/GAP , volunteers and employees, against any and all claims of any person, arising out of acts, omissions or negligence of their agents or employees.  The furnishing of Security at the event by the Event Coordinator/GAP shall not constitute waiver of this disclaimer. 

 
IV. Set Up
The Market Common will be available for set up from 8:00am-12:00pm the Saturday of each event.

V. Break Down

All booths must remain intact until 7:00pm on the Sunday of each event.  At the time the exhibitor will have from 7:00-9:00pm to break down.

 
VI. Failure to Pay or Occupy Space

If this space assigned to the artist is not fully paid by the first of each month for the corresponding Art Walk, the Event Coordinator/GAP may terminate this agreement and reassign the space to another artist. 

 If the artist does not claim or occupy assigned space before 10:00am on the Saturday of the event, the Event Coordinator/GAP may, at its option, terminate this agreement and reassign the space.  In neither case shall the defaulting artist be entitled to the refund of any sums paid in advance to the Event Coordinator/GAP. 
 
VII. Artist’s Cancellation Rights

Artist may cancel this Agreement at any time upon written notice to the Event Coordiator/GAP.  If WRITTEN NOTICE is received prior to June 1st 2009, artist shall be entitled to a full refund.  

 
VIII. Weather Policy No fees will be refunded in case of bad weather.

XI. Lodging
 
1 bedroom condo (sleeps up to 4) starting at $79.00 per night plus tax,
2 night minimum stay required.

XII.      Electricity 

Electrical outlets are available in the park as well as in the stores.  Artists are responsible for bringing their own extension cords, lights, etc.  Please advise of electrical needs 7 days prior to event.

 

XIII.      Tax 

Each artist is responsible for collecting South Carolina State and local taxes as required by law.  Forms will be provided. 

 

XIV.     Meals 

Each artist will recieve lunch on Saturday and Sunday.  
 
XV.    Security
The Market Common will provide overnight security on the Saturday of each event from 7:00pm-10:00am the following morning.  The Market Common/Global Awareness Project is not responsible for any theft, damage or destruction of goods.
