September 2009 Lecture/Workshops – September 18th and 19th
Participants – so far we have 15 signed up for the lecture, 10 for the borders workshop, and 2 for the "trip x 2" Good discussion by the guild members on whether or not we should continue with the Lecture/Workshop or whether it should be cancelled. It was decided to have the Lecture/Workshop. We made the commitment, so we need to step up to the plate and make this happen and to make it a success. It was decided that we need a Publicity Committee for the Lecture/Workshop. The following members offered to be on the Publicity Committee: Barb Nelson, Jayne Gilbertson, Chris Mangano and June Behnke. They will be working on getting the word out to the public. We will decide at a later date about having a Publicity Committee for the entire year. And who might be on it Mary Baumgarten will be writing an article about the Lecture/Workshop for the paper Remember: It is each member’s responsibility to - Get out the word about the Lecture and Workshops. ------------We need to get people to sign up!!!! Kits will be available at QQ for the Trip x Two Workshop

It was asked that the minutes be emailed each month along with putting them on the RAQG blog. So, if you missed June and July, you can read them on the blog.
Quintessential Quilts will be having a Workshop on October 23, 24, and 25. Please check at the store for more details.
Kelly Kroon did a demonstration of Discharge. Very interesting what can be done with some fabric and bleach! You can use a bleach pen, solution of 2 parts water to 1 part bleach, or just about anything that has bleach in it. Just don’t leave the solution on too long or you might have some holes in your fabric
Brown Bag Challenge – bags were handed back to the owner and we had "show and tell" of all of the blocks that were made!!!!!!!! It was really exciting to see what everyone came up with. Looks like this challenge was a great success.
Show and Tell – many inspiring items were shown. Keep up the good work everyone!
Tip of the Month –
- If something won’t lie flat----spritz with spray starch, let dry and press.
Door Prizes – won by Linda, Shirley, and Barb - If you win, bring one the next month
Tip of the Month Winner – Judy Martin ---looking forward to her tip in September
Don’t Forget--------
