Work Experience

Student Stacks Assistant,  October 2006 - March 2009

Duties: Shelved library materials according to the Library of Congress classification system, gathered data on library material use, assisted patrons in finding library materials, processed library books by adding spine labels and altering record location for the leisure read collection, retrieved materials for Inter-Library Loan, utilized Excel and Microsoft XP to organize data, organized and implemented shifts of library materials, and performed secretarial duties including copying and mailing. 


UCSC Office of Admissions, Santa Cruz CA

Summer Orientation Leader, Summer 2008

Duties: Directed campus tours for admitted students and their families, advised diverse groups of students regarding activities and academics, spoke on student panels about college life, set up tables and booths, served guests meals, proctored placement tests, and supervised an orientation team of 3 students 


Moorpark College Library, Moorpark CA

Technical Services Student Intern, October 2005 – July 2006

Duties: Typed up MARC records, shelved library materials according to the Library of Congress classification system, added security strips, barcodes, and spine labels to all incoming library materials, removed outdated materials from the collection, wrote order cards for new materials, utilized Excel and Microsoft 2000 to organize data, and assisted technical services librarian in updating physical processing of books
